Casino Reviews

Online casinos often feature many different Video Poker games. These typically stem off the original few which are still played to this day. Online casinos may add incentives, such as online video poker bonus rounds and online progressive jackpots, but mostly the game play is the same. Here are the most commonly found online Video Poker games.

Jacks or Better
Jacks or Better is the most common Video Poker game, hosted in every online casino. Payoffs start with a pair of Jacks or better. The game is said to have a return of 99.5% if played right. The game is also referred to as 9/6 Jacks or Better in regards to the payoff for a full house (9) and the payoff for a flush (6).  Jacks or Better also offers lower pay games, such as 9/5, 8/6, 8/5, 7/5, and 6/5. They each have their own maximum payout percentage (typically in the mid-to-high 90’s).

Tens or Better
Tens or Better is a variant of Jacks or Better. Payoffs start with a pair of tens, rather than a pair of Jacks. Although game play is the same, payouts differ greatly. The game is often called 6/5 due to the payoff for the full house (6) and payoff for the flush (5).

Deuces Wild
Deuces Wild is the second most popular Video Poker game. In the game, as the name suggests, all twos are wild, meaning they substitute for any other card in the deck in order to create a better hand. If played right, the game has a 100.8% payback percentage. The payout for a four of a kind is said to make up 1/3 of the payback percentage of the game, meaning the hand occurs every 15 hands on average.

Bonus Poker
Bonus Poker is another Video Poker game based on Jacks or Better, only it offers a higher percentage and various bonuses. It’s said that the payout for this game is 99.2%

Double Bonus
Double Bonus is similar to Jacks or Better, but offers a bonus payout for having four aces. A 10/7 version of this game offers a theoretical return of 100.2% when played perfectly. (The 10/7 refers to the payouts of a full house and flush).

Double Double Bonus
Double Double Bonus is much like its predecessors Double Bonus and Bonus Poker, only it offers different bonus payoffs for four of a kinds. The game’s theoretical return is 100.1%.

Progressive Jackpot Games
Some casinos offer Video Poker games with progressive jackpots, where the jackpot rises every time another coin is inserted. Although each of these Video Poker games have their own percentage payouts, they’re truly worth it when the jackpot is high enough.
